The factory system is an intricate arrangement of moving parts and pipes.  In an effort to create simplicity, a clean look, and the advanced features of modern engine management, we decided to create a drive by wire conversion for the 964/993 intake manifolds. This kit replaces the original Porsche throttle centre section on 964 and non varioram 993 intake manifolds.

Designed for the Bosch 74mm electronic throttle and the Bosch T-Map sensor (intake air temperature and manifold air pressure in one sensor).  The sensor is available in 1.15 bar sensor for naturally aspirated cars & 3 bar pressure versions for turbo cars.

Why DBW?  Simple.

Fast response, no longer using a series of mechanical linkages (for the early cars using 964/993 manifolds) which are sloppy, have built in resistance to feel.  For the cable guys, no old cables, cable drag, or stretch.

Perfect idle control.  Modern aftermarket ECU's can use the E-throttle to control idle.  So ditch the ageing factory idle air bypass valve.

Cruise control, many modern aftermarket ECU's can also be setup to have a neat and discrete cruise control system that uses calculated engine torque and ideal PID controls to manage perfect speed control.

Even further, auto blip, traction control, boost control - the possibilities are seemingly endless.

But DBW has poor throttle response!

We hear this all the time, and it is simply not true.  An electronic throttle will open as quickly as you can put your foot on the pedal, less than the blink of an eye.  The reality is that many car OEM's program the throttle to be either less responsive, or, open less for larger throttle inputs to help economy, driveability for the average A-B driver.
